How EMDR therapy works_ a guide.png

EMDR Therapy

EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is a therapy that helps individuals heal from the emotional distress caused by difficult or traumatic life experiences. It works by helping the brain process and reframe memories so they no longer feel overwhelming or triggering.

EMDR is often used for trauma and PTSD, but it can also be helpful for anxiety, stress, and other experiences that may feel difficult to move past. The goal of EMDR is to help individuals feel less stuck in the past and more able to move forward with confidence and emotional relief.

EMDR can be helpful for individuals experiencing:

  • Anxiety and panic attacks

  • Trauma or PTSD

  • Grief and loss

  • Depression

  • OCD

  • Eating disorders

  • Addiction or substance abuse

  • Bipolar disorder

  • Violence, abuse, or other traumatic experiences

  • Feeling stuck in past experiences
